Course Samples

The following documents are samples of course work I have completed throughout my college career. They are organized based on content, with linguistic proficiency samples, cultural/literacy competency samples and business competency samples.

Linguistic Proficiency Samples

This first sample is a one page paper written for JAPN 3060 about the laws regarding transgender people in Japan.

This second sample is a one page paper written for JAPN 3060 about a friend and colleague of mine who passed away whose name was Raymond.

Cultural/Literacy Competency Samples

This next sample is a sample of translation work I did for my JAPN 3980 Directed Reading class, where I translated Edogawa Ranpo's "何者" or otherwise known as "Who." This was one of the first major translation projects I have done.

This sample is of a paper I did for Japanese Film on the effects of Seijun Suzuki on the film industry and the comparison of his film "Branded to Kill"(1967) and its sequel "Pistol Opera"(2001).

This sample is of a paper I did for my Japanese Literature in Translation class analyzing Haruki Murakami's "Hard-boiled Wonderland and the End of the World.

Business Competency Samples

This is a report on the internship I did at Fellows Inc. during the summer of 2023. It showcases the company, the role I had at the company, and how I handled the tasks assigned to me during the internship.

This is a paper I wrote for Japanese and International Business on the history and details of Kodansha Ltd. while also analyzing their business.

This is a paper I wrote on the importance of International Marketing in the marketplace and the world.
